Probably my favorite Ballsy Boy book so far, and that’s hard to say cause you have to love Rebel, Brewer, Tank, Heart & all their men! But who can resist a real southern boy, Texas drawl, cowboy hat & boots with an awe shucks attitude that will do anything, absolutely anything to let the man he loves know he is loved and valued in return? This story shows just how far some people are willing to go to take care of their family, for the ones they love. It also shows how much it hurts when a family cannot accept a child the way god made him, and the things he does to find that love and acceptance on his own. And for it all to unfold in the tabloids....smh, it’s an amazing story of love & courage. A feel good story that I know I will read again & again, so much love, not only between the main characters but you can feel the love between the friends they meet on their journey. You nailed it ladies, can’t wait for Bally Boys #5!!😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍 seriously wish I could give this book more than 5 stars ✨ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was looking forward to reading Cameron's (aka Campy) story and, although it's very sweet, I had a few quibbles with the book.First, what I loved/liked:1. Jackson. He is up there with my all time favorite heroes. Incredibly handsome and talented, it was refreshing to have him in the "sweet, less experienced" role. He is old fashioned (in a good way), loyal, nonjudgmental, patient, generous, and caring (whew!).2. Cameron's mom. Someone who has been at the wrong end of the good fortune stick. Her physical and emotional pain of her struggle with MS is handled with sensitivity and realism. She is a perfect "non-perfect" character.What I didn't like/love:1. Cameron. This was a surprise for me. Some of my dislike has to due with his convoluted back story (see below). He comes across as the anti-Jackson. He is all sharp angles, full of distrust, and (although he denies it) a huge chip on his shoulder. I was so disappointed with his character, who had been portrayed as a man of mystery throughout the series. Finding out what was beneath the surface was a letdown.2. Cameron's backstory. (Warning: Spoilers!) Turns out, Cameron' is NOT gay (according to himself). He. Like most of the other Ballsy Boys, has turned to porn in an effort to get out of harsh poverty. Cameron first does straight porn, but finds out that gay porn pays much better. He doesn't seem to have a big problem with this dichotomy. He's not really ashamed of adopting a gay persona, effectively leaving him with no love life. He has become slightly bitter about the choices he was forced to make and his own self-denial. Later on, when he is outed as a gay porn star, although uncomfortable, he is more upset when it comes out that he has done straight porn (?!).Jackson is so perfect, he deserved a better partner.
