I have loved all of the books that I have read by Amelia Hutchins. Except this one. I had been so hyped to read it, only to be severely disappointed. It was entirely too long. It could of been half a book shorter if all of the reiterations had been cut out. I knew I wouldn't like Lucian to begin with, but I thought that would change as the story progressed. It didn't. I was so done hearing about what a quivering mess he was going to turn her into. Even their sex scenes made me want to skim read. It was definitely just "fine." Lena was immature and annoying. Don't get me started on the plot holes and unanswered questions. There was so much that I hated about this book. I just wanted it to be over. I'm so glad that it is. I won't be continuing this series, but I will read her other works. This is the first and last bio I pick up by this author. I’m not a sensitive reader but I like relationships between the hero and the heroine to make sense. The heroine in this work is cringy. She says no gets used anyway and comes back for more. If that’s your thing, hit the buy button because Lucian is dead sexy. But if you’re like me, and you want a smart heroine and a mutual attraction outside of the bedroom, skip this one.
